Tables, POS seating, split and merge

Turn on table management, pick a table on POS, transfer a party, split one ticket into two GST bills, and merge two tickets on Multi-Outlet. Not the food-court lesson.

For a dining room that seats guests at tables. Button names match the app. This is not the food-court lesson — one guest bill across many kitchens is Premium, centralised billing.

Basic lists tables (10) but split, transfer, and merge stay locked. Economy and above get Split ticket and table transfer. Merge tickets is Multi-Outlet only, same outlet. Centralised kitchens do not show the merge bar.

Economy is not self-serve. Premium trial: app.quickkot.com/signup?plan=premium. Pick Multi-Outlet if you need merge; pick Centralised and Table management + token if you only need seating, split, and transfer.

1. Turn tables on

Token only hides the POS table grid.

Premium / Enterprise, Centralised — Settings → Profile → Floor and tokens. Choose Table management + token (POS table grid, Settings → Tables, token after payment). Save plan.

Economy and Multi-Outlet already run tables. There is no Token only radio on Multi-Outlet.

2. Settings → Tables

Settings → Tables. The plan cap is on the page (10 / 25 / 99). Signup already created numbered labels (1, 2, 3…).

  • Type a label (placeholder Patio 1) → Add.
  • In use means an open dine-in ticket sits there. Clear frees a stuck occupancy so POS can reuse the label. Delete removes the table.

Do not delete a table that still has a live ticket — Clear or collect first.

3. POS — pick a table and bill it

POS.

  1. New order if a cart is leftover.
  2. Dine in — the table grid appears. Takeaway has no table picker.
  3. Tap a free table. Occupied tables are disabled. The selected table uses the coral button.
  4. Add items.
  5. Economy / Premium / Enterprise — Collect payment or Place (postpaid) (Centralised and Multi-Outlet). Basic is postpaid: Place (postpaid), then Collect payment on Tickets / KDS.

The ticket shows Table {label}. A payment split (cash + card + UPI on one invoice) is not a table split.

4. Transfer — same ticket, new table

Open KDS. Tap the open dine-in ticket. Table dropdown — pick a free table. The order number stays. Destination cannot already have a running ticket.

5. Split ticket — two bills

On KDS, tap the open ticket (needs more than one live line). Split ticket.

  1. Tick Move to new ticket on the lines that should leave. Leave at least one item on the original card.
  2. Table for new ticket — a free table, not the original. If the floor is full: Clear or transfer another table first.
  3. Split selected.

Two open tickets. Two GST invoices. The kitchen already cooked from the first card. Cancel on that panel backs out without splitting.

6. Merge tickets — Multi-Outlet only

On KDS, when two or more tickets are open at this outlet, the Merge tickets bar appears: From #, Into #, Merge.

Lines move onto the surviving ticket. The from-ticket is cancelled with reason Merged into #{number} — not a void of food that was cooked. Same outlet only. Centralised kitchens do not show this bar.

Done

Tables on, floor labels named, a dine-in bill on a selected table, transfer to a free table, split into two bills. Merge only if this house is Multi-Outlet.
