Start the 15-day trial: app.quickkot.com/signup?plan=premium. Pick Centralised. You land on KDS.
1. Profile
Settings → Profile. Three saves.
Profile — click Edit. Fill name on bill, address, phone, FSSAI, GSTIN, website. Save profile.
Bill disclaimer — optional bullets under a centred Disclaimer heading on the guest bill. Add point, then Save disclaimer. Empty skips the block.
Plan — you should already read Centralised billing (it cannot switch to Multi-Outlet).
- Tick Self branding on bill and KOT if you do not want the QuickKOT footer on slips.
- Floor and tokens
- Table management + token — POS table grid, Settings → Tables, token after payment.
- Token only — token when the ticket is created. Public Token Display shows a kitchen when its items are marked ready.
This lesson uses Token only. Save plan. Copy Public token display (/tds/{slug}) or click Open display for a TV.
2. Tax
Settings → Tax. Each block has Edit at the top right. Add default tax for the rates this house charges (CGST + SGST, VAT, or none). Optional tax (VAT-1, …) replaces the default block on that item only. Premium can turn on service charge. Save asks you to confirm. Cancel leaves that block as it was. Removing a rate asks you to confirm, then Save.
3. Discounts
Settings → Discounts. The Discount slabs block has Edit at the top right. Add slab — name, percent, optional PIN. Example: Happy hour / 10. Save asks you to confirm. Cancel leaves the slabs as they were. Removing a slab asks you to confirm.
4. Add a kitchen
The trial includes two kitchens. The first is named like the restaurant.
Settings → Stations. Rename the first kitchen (e.g. Grill), optional GSTIN. Save kitchen details.
Add station — second kitchen (e.g. Pizza). Create station.
Each category belongs to exactly one kitchen. A guest ticket with Grill + Pizza still pays once; each kitchen only sees its own lines.
5. Add a user and a kitchen login
The trial includes three users, counting you. Kitchen logins count.
Settings → Users — person name + email + Cashier or Manager. Send invite asks you to confirm. They set a password from the mail. Each person has Edit, then Save (asks you to confirm) and Cancel. Disable and enable ask you to confirm.
Settings → Stations → Station login — select the kitchen, Station manager or Station sub manager, name + email, Send kitchen invite.
Station manager: KDS + Kitchen items + Reports + Orders. Station sub manager: KDS + Kitchen items only. Each kitchen that has a login needs at least one Station manager.
6. Categories and menu items
Menu. Pick the kitchen at the top. + Category, then + Item (name, price, optional description, variants, tax). Do this on both kitchens if both cook.
7. Online categories
Online categories are guest tiles on the QR menu — not kitchen categories. Create a tile (Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks…) and tick the kitchen categories it should show.
8. Two or three POS tickets
POS. Token only puts a token on the ticket when you place or collect.
- New order if a cart is leftover. Dine in or Takeaway.
- Grill items only → Collect payment or Place (postpaid).
- New order. Pizza only. Collect or place.
- New order. One Grill line and one Pizza line. One bill, two kitchen tickets.
Open KDS. The mixed ticket lists both kitchens.
9. KDS — manager and station
House KDS shows every kitchen. Received → Preparing (Start cooking) → Ready → Picked up. When every live line is ready or picked up, Mark served.
Station login sees only that kitchen. A Grill ticket must not appear on the Pizza tablet.
10. Token Display
From Profile, Open display on a TV. When a kitchen marks items Ready, that token appears. One tap on the board turns on Tap for ding-dong for new ready tokens.
11. QR menu
Reports has Guest menu QR. The guest opens /r/{slug}/menu, taps a tile, adds items, enters name + 10-digit phone, and gets a 4-digit hold (about 10 minutes). Staff: Draft tickets → place or collect. Then the same KDS + Token Display path.
Done
Bill header and Token Display URL on Profile. Two kitchens. A cashier and/or kitchen login. Menu on each kitchen. Guest tiles. Two or three tickets on KDS. Pickup board live. QR hold converts at the counter.
